Insurer Evaluation Pilot — Hull Underwriting Track
By Commercial · February 18, 2026 · 5 min read
A leading marine hull underwriter ran an independent evaluation against staged thermal events and live sailing data over six weeks.
The underwriter wanted to know whether the detection layer produced telemetry they could rely on for claims investigation, not just operational alerting. We provisioned a bench rig and a single-deck deployment, both reporting to a third-party log store the underwriter controlled.
Evaluation criteria
- Detection latency under three staged abuse profiles.
- Time-series retention, integrity, and chain-of-custody.
- Behavior under partial network damage.
On all three, the system met the underwriter's acceptance criteria. The output of the evaluation is now informing a premium-band reduction trial for vessels carrying the system, scheduled to begin with the operator pilot fleet in 2026 H2.
